3 Ways to Level Up your Book Club Meeting

Hey, book-loving friend! Are you ready for your next book club meeting? If you are new here, my name is She Nell. I am an author, blogger, independent publisher, and Literacy teacher. I have three ways to take your book club meeting to the next level.

Bookish Themes

Turn your next book club meeting into a theme party. If the club read historical why not go in your favorite outfit from the time? If you read romance dressing in reds and pinks would be fun. The goal is to pick a theme from the book and create a book club party. Each year the Christian Book Lover’s retreat has a theme night. Theme night is one of my favorite events as an author and reader. Dressing up is fun and your photos will be great.

Bookish Gifts

Everyone loves swag. If it is your turn to host the book club meeting consider giving bookish-themed gifts. Your gift can be related to the book or simply to reading. Sites like Amazon and Oriental Trading have themed gifts at a low cost. Bookmarkers, pens, notebooks, or key chains make great reader gifts. Things like earrings and lip glosses are also things that ladies love.

Special Guest / Author Appearence

Inviting the author is easier than you think. Authors love to speak to readers and have a variety of ways you can contact them for appearances. Surprisingly most authors do not charge for appearing and love to be at book club meetings. As an author who has appeared at in-person and virtual meetings, I can tell you it was an amazing time. If you would like an author to appear at your next book club meeting I would suggest you reach out via their website or email. If you can not find that information a quick note in a private social media message may work.

When is your next book club meeting? I am looking to spotlight book clubs on this site, if you are interested please let me know. Don’t forget to shout out your book club in the com

Are you looking for a quick read?

Sometimes, we want to read a good story but have only a short amount of free time. That is one of the reasons I wrote the Living a Blessed Lie series. This 90-minute read is perfect for your lunch break or your kids’ football practice.

They say they are Living their Blessed Life but someone is LIVING A BLESSED LIE.

Hey friend before you go please join my list so that we can keep in touch. I send out weekly chats and updates.

She Nell is the author of over 19 Christian Fiction books. In 2020 she published her tenth Amazon best seller Walking Crooked with Christ and became the CEO of Light and Salt Press LLC. Her blog Shenellinc.com is a go-to resource for writers and readers of Christian Fiction.
