Meet the author: Natasha D Frazier

Readers it is always a pleasure to introduce you to amazing authors. Natasha D Frazier is a phenomenal author with a new release you do not want to miss. After enjoying this interview please support her by making a purchase or sharing this interview with a friend.

Tell me about your latest book.

The Reunion is book 1 in my first romantic suspense series (The Langston Sisters). Our main character, Crystal Langston has been divorced from her abusive ex-husband, Dante Green, for over a year. She is now the CEO of her family’s luxury handbag company, Langston Brands, and attends their twentieth college reunion mixer in an effort to prove to her peers that she’s doing okay outside of Dante’s shadow. However, Dante ends up dead by the end of the night, and Crystal is the number one suspect.

Marcel Singleton is Crystal’s childhood best friend who is a successful criminal attorney in Houston, TX. Marcel has just launched his campaign for Houston’s District Attorney when he and Crystal reconnect. He represents Crystal in the murder accusations against her ex-husband but works to find a delicate balance between his suppressed feelings for Crystal, his District Attorney race, and representing a suspected murderer.

Why did you choose to become a Christian Fiction Author?

Christian fiction allows me to share my faith through what I love – writing! I’ve enjoyed romance novels since my teenage years, so what could be better than the exploration of romance with the greatest love of all, Jesus’ love for us.

What inspired you to write it?

I toyed with the idea of writing a romantic suspense novel for a while, but l story I had in mind wasn’t working. Then I received a notification about my 20th high school reunion and the ideas started churning. What if… So, I created the characters and here we are.

What is your writing process?

These days, I’m a little ashamed to say that I’m all over the place. I write during my lunch break, sometimes late into the night, and other times, early in the morning or in between my children’s gymnastics or martial arts sessions. I also take off work from time to time so I can post up in a breakfast restaurant with my laptop to write. Honestly, it depends on the day and what’s going on. But as far as crafting a story, I start with the character and concept, then build the plot from there. I have a storyboard on the wall in front of my desk with ideas written on it, as well as a tablet I use to write ideas. My ideas seem to flow better when writing them out by hand.

What is the best part of being an author?

For me, the opportunity to share my heart with, and connect with readers. The readers make being an author more enjoyable because they get it. They go on this journey into the fictional lives of the characters with me. The connection between an author and a reader is amazing.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

Rhonda Mcknight, Pat Simmons, Michelle Stimpson, Parker J. Cole, Joy Avery, Christy Barritt, Tyora Moody, Toni Shiloh, Unoma Nwankwor, among others.

What book(s) are you most excited to read next?

I am currently reading Joy Avery’s Sweeter than Honey. Up next is Unoma Nwankwor’s Rent A Bae. I just love the title of that one, and I’m looking forward to reading it.

Tell me something about you as a person. (Likes, hobbies, family anything you would like readers to know.)

Aside from reading, I enjoy watching drama and action movies, swimming, and working out. Over the past two years, my love for working out has evolved into something I never even dreamed remotely possible. I’m the one who used to gladly give up my turn in grade school P.E. class, and now I’m even considering becoming an instructor. My favorite exercise program is LesMills, and I take most of the classes: Bodypump, Bodycombat, Tone, Yoga, Step, and Attack. It’s such a great program that has challenged me mentally and physically, and it’s tough to go a day without it. But rest is essential.

What is next? (Events, Projects)

I’m hosting a joint book release party for The Reunion with Michelle Lindo-Rice at the Christian Book Lovers’ Retreat in Charlotte on October 28th! I’m excited about that. I’m currently writing book 2 in the series, which I plan to release in February 2023.

Do you have anything you would like to add?

The Reunion releases on October 25, 2022, and will be available online wherever books are sold. Autographed copies can be purchased from my website: www.natashafrazier.com. One of the themes in this book is the idea of second chances, whether that be romance or other situations. We don’t always get a second chance to right our wrongs or fix our regrets, so I’d like to encourage readers to be courageous in love and in pursuing whatever it is that’s been placed on their hearts.
