It is the giving season! Like most of us, you are probably making your Christmas list and wondering what to get the book lover in your life. Well, friend, I am happy to help you figure out the perfect gift for readers. Here are a few of my favorite gifts for readers. Your reading bubby will love one or all of these gifts for readers this Christmas.
Kindle /e-reader cover
Face it your bookish friend probably has an e-reader. Most avid readers switch from books to tables with ease. So while purchasing another e-reader may or may not be practical you can buy your book buddy a cute new cover. Covers make a great gift for readers. You can get a custom cover, a cover in your reader’s favorite color, or their favorite artistic print. Although I have had my e-reader for three years I have had at least six different covers and enjoy switching them. E-reader covers make a great gift for your reading friend.
Bookmarkers
Yep, bookmarkers are a great gift your your reading friend. Bookmarkers may seem like a simple gift but the possibilities of creativity are endless. You can make them yourself and adorn them with beads and charms. You can have bookmarkers custom-made with your friend’s initials or photos. This simple gift will mean the world to your friend who loves reading because it is a tool every reader needs. Bookmarkers are an excellent cost-effective gift for your book buddies.
Lights
Many readers read at night. There is nothing like curling up in bed with a good book and there is nothing worse than having to get up and turn off the light. Night lights that attach to the book or pin lights make an excellent gift for readers. I was gifted a light that was attached to my book and had a USB charger. I love my little light and use it when I am not reading with my e-reader. If you are looking for a unique gift night lights are a great gift for readers.
Gift cards
Serious readers have a book budget. What better way to say I love you than giving your reading friend a gift card to their bookstore of choice? Gift cards make great gifts because you give the reader a chance to pick out any book they want on your dime. Gift cards are another great gift for readers.
Mugs
Book lovers usually love tea or coffee. That said, your book buddies probably have a stash of mugs and have been asked not to buy any more. You can give your reader friend a gift that will warm their hearts and keep peace in their homes. Your reader friend will love the bookish mug you picked out and gladly add it to their collection.
Autographed copies of books
Gift the reader in your life an autographed copy of a book from an author they admire. You can pick up signed copies at independent bookstores. You can also visit the author’s website and inquire about signed copies. Authors often provide signed copies when you purchase directly from their website but may also have a signed copy service available elsewhere. A signed copy of a book is a great gift for a reader.

Are you in the mood for a quick read?
Sometimes we want to read a good story but we only have a short amount of free time. That is one of the reasons I wrote the Living a Blessed Lie series. This 90-minute read is a perfect read for your lunch break or kids’ football practice.
They say they are Living their Blessed Life but someone is LIVING A BLESSED LIE.
