Due to the pandemic, we are unable to write in some of our favorite coffee houses for long periods of time. I missed the sounds and smells of my favorite local tea shop. I enjoyed writing three of my eight books among the hum of machines, soft music, and light chatter. I was able to create a cozy writing area in my home that allowed me to work on my latest release. Here is a list of my favorite things to turn any space into a creative corner.
Large table or desk area
If you do not have a desk do not worry. When you write at a coffee shop you work on a table, simply turn your dining room table into the perfect writing surface.
Comfy Couch
Your couch is a perfect substitute for the comfy chairs at any local coffee shop. Snuggle within the cushions and let your creativity flow.
Lap Desk
I love my lap desk. It provides a steady surface for me to write when I sit on the couch.
Lofty Hop
Ok, Lofty Hop may not be your thing, but YouTube has several videos that will play the music of your choice. There are channels that will provide music and coffee house chatter.
Candles, incents or fragrance
You can purchase the smell of the coffee house in candle form or your favorite motivational scents.
Coffee or Tea
You can create your favorite tea or coffee drinks at home. My favorite consists of mocha coffee, almond milk, sugar, whip cream, and chocolate powder.
