How to make the perfect reading nook

Are you looking for a place to read? Yes, you could go to a cafe or bookstore but you can also create your perfect reading nook at home. Below are some tips on how to create your perfect reading nook at home.

Create the perfect reading nook by finding the perfect spot

If you have a cat you know that cats have a way of finding a place to get cozy. Our cat, Nala, loves to nap in the window, under my desk, or in any small out-of-the-way spot she can find. To create the perfect reading nook tap into your inner house cat. Look for a spot that doesn’t have traffic. This can be a corner in a room or the edge seat of the couch(the one spot where no one sits). Look for a place where you will be unnoticed. This place is often where the remote or keys are even though everyone in the house is searching and they are in plain sight.

Create the perfect reading nook by bringing cozy vibes

Now that we have a designated spot it is time to bring in the cozy vibes. You can create the perfect reading nook by bringing in blankets to create a cozy vibe. Soft pillows and warm lighting will also help establish a cozy atmosphere. I find having a table to put my tea on helps. It is also a great place to put the cat under. This keeps her from sitting on top of my book.

Create the perfect reading nook by including your books

Once you have a cozy place and vibes there is only one additional thing needed to create the perfect reading nook-books. Books are the essential element to having the perfect reading nook. Store your books on a small shelf or in a neat stack near your reading nook. There are numerous storage options including bins and baskets. Baskets are cat approved but you may have to share your space. If your bookshelves are on your eReader make sure your perfect reading nook is near a plug or charging station.
