The Christian Fiction author community is filled with remarkable writers. Men and women craft stories that motivate and memorize. If you are looking for a novel or series, read Lakisha Johnson’s books.
Tell me about your book.
My book is called Almost Destroyed. In it, you meet Ava who’s gone through a lot of darkness in her life. Her story is one of finding your footing again after almost being destroyed by every punch the enemy and life could land.
Why did you choose to become a Christian Fiction Author?
To be honest, it chose me. Lol! I never imagined being a writer, let alone a Christian Fiction one, yet Im glad God’s plan surpassed mine. In 2017, I thought it was writer’s block when it was God shifting me to another level. A level I didn’t realize I needed until it happened.
What is your writing process? (Do you write at a certain time, a certain place, or use a notebook first?)
No, there’s no method to this madness. I write whenever I get a chance as I’ve never been the one to outline or make a schedule. Although I jot notes on my phone, I do all my writing on a computer because I find it works better for me.
What is the best part of being an author?
Getting to share God’s word with people I get the honor to sometimes meet. It’s been the best part and makes all the hard work, tears and sweat, and time worth it.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Honestly, I don’t have a favorite list of authors because I like to read in every genre. However, if someone would ask me to recommend authors to read I wouldn’t hesitate to say my sister Laquisha Rucker, BM Hardin, Khara Campbell, Stacey Covington-Lee, D.A. Bourne, She Nell, Wynta Tyme, B. Love, Tanisha Stewart, and Rose Fresquez … to name a few.
What book(s) are you most excited to read next?
Hmmm … I don’t have a lot of time to read, but I’m looking forward to DA Bourne’s next release.
Tell me something about you as a person. (Likes, hobbies, family anything you would like readers to know.)
I’m an open book. Lol! Seriously, who you see is who I am. I love God, my family, Sunday dinners, and enjoying life. Most times, although there’s not a lot of it, you’ll find me at home, on the couch binge watching a good series.
