I have known Shanika for some time and was blessed to collaborate on a book. She is amazingly talented and I am sure you will love her as much as I do.
Tell me about your latest book.
My latest book is titled Fatal Flame. It’s about a couple struggling to move on after being
in the spotlight and having a lavish lifestyle.
Why did you choose to become a Christian Fiction Author?
. I chose to become a Christian Fiction Author because I wanted to write about life lessons
and consequences while honoring God through my work.
What inspired you to write it?
I was inspired to write Fatal Flame because I wanted to write a book about a couple going
through a hard time and on the verge of giving up. Temptation can come in and it looks
like everything you may want because you’re going through a rough time in your
relationship, but most times when some things look too good to be true, they usually are.
What is your writing process? (Do you write at a particular time or place, use a notebook
first?)
During my writing process, I write a lot of notes. It works best for me to write my ideas
out first.
What is the best part of being an author?
The best part of being an author is seeing your vision come true. One of the greatest
things are looking at your hard work through an e-book, paperback, and reading reviews
about people saying how much they love your work, and how your book helped them.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Some of my favorite authors are E.N. Joy, Reshonda Tate Billingsley, Victoria
Christopher Murray, Kimberla Lawson Roby, Mary Monroe, Carl Weber, Omar Tyree.
What book(s) are you most excited to read next?
There are so many books I want to read next. It’s hard to figure out which one I want to
read first.
Tell me something about you as a person. (Likes, hobbies, family anything you would
like readers to know.)
I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and listening to music.
What is next?
I have a few novel ideas in the works.
