There is nothing like reading under the covers while the spring rains hit the window. Imagine a warm cup of tea and your favorite book taking you to places beyond your dreams. While the introvert in me loves the thought of reading inside, reading outside of home is a special treat. Here are a couple of my favorite spots to read.
Why Cafes’ are a Great Place to Read
If the smell of coffee gives you warm feelings then reading in a cafe may be for you. Cafe’s provide a mostly quiet atmosphere for readers. There is just enough quiet to enjoy your book and just enough noise to keep you from falling asleep. I imagine this is why college students use cafes as places to study. You can concentrate while sipping your choice of beverage. To find a cafe or coffee house in your area simply search cafe near me. If you are tired of the big chain cafes and coffee houses I would encourage you to search for independent small cafes in your area. Local shops offer the same great atmosphere.
Why Libraries are a Great Place to Read
Libraries are still thriving meccas of books and every town has one. Although we live in a digital consumer driver age free books are still available and waiting for you at your local library. Libraries are a great place to read. The local library has been revamped in most American cities to include better furniture and bigger book selections. You have your choice of seating arrangements and private room at your local library. Readers are encouraged to read and take home as many books as they would like. My local library has a check-out limit of 50. While that may be tempting I enjoy a few selections and reading in a cozy corner of the library. If you find that your local library does not carry the books on your TBR list make a request. Your request will ensure that other readers get the opportunity to read great books.
Why the Porch/patio is a Great Place to Read
If you can’t or just don’t feel like traveling then my final favorite spot read in the spring is for you. The porch or patio is a great place to read a good book. Reading on the patio or porch is amazing because it requires little to no travel. Simply grab your book and possibly a beverage and head to your porch or patio. Having a porch or patio has been a requirement for every place where I have lived. In 2020 I understood why, having an outside space attached to my home allowed me to relax and enjoy the sun without being in public. Sitting in your private piece of outside and enjoying your spring read is a great way to relax.

Are you in the mood for a quick read?
Sometimes we want to read a good story but we only have a short amount of free time. That is one of the reasons I wrote the Living a Blessed Lie series. This 90-minute read is a perfect read for your lunch break or kids’ football practice.
They say they are Living their Blessed Life but someone is LIVING A BLESSED LIE.
